My name is Carl-Johan Forssén Ehrlin, and my greatest drive in life is to help people.
I was born and raised in Sweden but now live in Spain. Since I took my first steps into the world of writing, my life’s goal has been clear: To leave the world a little better than it was when I arrived.
A powerful motivation in my writing has been my own suffering. Since childhood, I have lived with physical pain and a sensitive body, which has given me a deep longing to understand how we as humans function — and how we can heal, grow, and return to balance.
Many of the tools I lacked when I was young are the very tools I now want to pass on to others, through stories that truly touch and make a real difference.
I hold a bachelor’s degree in psychology and have studied for six years at Swedish universities, in subjects such as psychology, leadership, pedagogy, rhetoric, voice as an instrument, communication, and personal development.
Beyond that, I have trained in several alternative approaches, including becoming an NLP Master Practitioner, and have participated in courses and programs focused on inner transformation and human potential.
Over the years, I’ve also worked as a coach for both executives and individuals, and I’ve taught leadership, communication, and personal development — from my very first job teaching lower secondary students, to lecturing at vocational colleges and universities, including courses in media training, leadership, presentation techniques, and communication. I have also trained teams and management groups in leadership and group dynamics.
I have a background in the Swedish Armed Forces, where I served voluntarily as an officer for 12 years and loved leading troops, planning, and conducting exercises. Teaching and helping people reach new insights has always been the common thread through every job and assignment I’ve taken on.
My journey has also been shaped by a deep spiritual search — a longing to find meaning, to understand life’s subtler dimensions, and to contribute to a world where both body and soul can heal. I believe in the power of simple words, and in storytelling’s ability to create presence, safety, and transformation.
When my children’s books — written to help kids fall asleep naturally — gained international attention, my life changed. The Rabbit Who Wants to Fall Asleep became a global phenomenon.
I’ve had the honor of traveling the world with my family, sharing my method through some of the world’s largest TV and radio networks and newspapers, and doing hundreds of interviews where I’ve spoken about my books and the revolutionary use of language and structure that has helped millions of children relax and fall asleep peacefully.
My books have sold over 8 million copies and been translated into 46 languages.
Thank you for being here and for joining me on this journey. Perhaps one of my stories might become part of yours.
